The Nashville Food Bloggers have teamed up with St. Jude for the upcoming annual Rock ‘n’ Roll 5K right here in Nashville on April 29th, 2017. Come out and walk (or run if you are feeling fancy) together as a group in support of a fantastic cause. If you are unable to attend, you can still participate in our fundraising efforts.
Find details and FREE registration below.
We are getting all of the food bloggers together to help raise funds and walk for promoting the wonderful work that St. Jude does right in our own back yard in Memphis. Most of you are probably familiar with St Jude, but may not know the depth of what they provide to their patients and their families.
St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
It’s amazing how the incredible research and resources that are provided to these families helps to provide continual care and support. By walking (or running) in the marathon, we hope to raise exposure and support for St. Jude as a group. This is a great opportunity for us to join together as bloggers and show our support.
St. Jude has been kind enough to waive all of our entry fees for the group. They are thrilled to have us participate and hope to continue with a great partnership in the future.
Once you sign up to participate in the walk, you are encouraged to help raise awareness through your own outlets and raise donations to help continue the work of St. Jude. You will receive an email with information regarding how you can raise donations directly through St. Jude’s website for our team. 100% of the donations raised will go to the hospital. We are leaving this up to each participant as to how you want to do that. Whether you ask for donations or not, blog posts and social media content are a great way to support promoting the race, and are a great way to include your readers in a great cause that they most likely already know a bit about. Tying St. Jude back to the local area here is a great way to incorporate the content.
The walk will be on the morning of April 29th, 2017. We will meet and walk as a group.
